Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves using tiny, sterile needles to create micro-injuries in the skin’s surface. These micro-punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing response, encouraging collagen and elastin production.
Depending on your personals goals and needs, the substances that are needled into te skin will be customised: peptides, vitamines, hyaluronic acid, Botulinum Toxin: the possibilities and combinations are endless and the right mixture will be chosen by Dr. Gijsen on the moment of your personal consultation.

Mechanism of Action

Microneedling is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment that works by stimulating the skin’s natural healing response to promote rejuvenation and address various skin concerns. The treatment involves using a device equipped with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering a cascade of biological processes that lead to improved skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

The steps of the procedure

The microneedling procedure begins with a consultation, during which we assess your skin and determine if the treatment is right for you. Next, your skin is cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort. During the treatment, the microneedling device is gently moved across the skin, creating tiny punctures to stimulate the healing response. After the treatment, a serum or topical product may be applied for enhanced results and nourishment. You’ll receive instructions for post-treatment care, including sun protection and moisturization. A series of treatments may be recommended, typically spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. By following these steps under the guidance of a trained medical professional, microneedling will help you achieve healthier, more youthful-looking skin.
